System Engineer/Cloud Engineer (Remote)

Location: Remote
Position Summary: Experienced System Engineer with overall responsibility for installation, configuration, designe/architecture, and operations of information systems, including file servers, networked data storage, applications software, data backup and other general system engineering duties. Duties include responsibility for security of server systems on both physical hardware and virtual machine environments for both Data center and Remote branch offices. The system engineering will also service and troubleshoot networks, systems and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational issues.

Description
System Engineering (40%):
Works with System Engineer III in scheduling the installation, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems software, database systems, applications, and application development environments.
Participates in technical projects providing guidelines and technical guidance for system administration and system security.
In conjunction with System Engineering team, evaluates, tests patches and hot fixes to systems and applications for maintain system and application security.
Regularly review servers and application logs and other data to identify potential issues.
Assists in server hardware installation, maintenance, problem resolution, failure recovery, and configuration.
Help Desk / Technical Support (30%):
Providing System Engineering support for Help Desk tickets and support requests, including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and upgrading computer hardware, software, computers, and peripheral equipment.
Receives, assigns, prioritizes, documents and actively resolves end user help requests.
Security (20%):
Provide solutions and input for defining compliance and monitoring metrics for system security as well as security scanning of both applications and systems for vulnerabilities.
Design, document and maintain system security policies and procedures as well as monitor compliance in conjunction with security service providers and security vendors.
Minimize and mitigate risks introduced by existing and new information technologies and services through diligent System Engineering practices.
Project Management (10%):
Working with System Engineer(s) II,III on technical projects and project management assignments as needed.
Coordinate/manage projects between technical and non-technical staff and organizational departments.
Analyze business technical service needs and proposing solutions.
Plans and manage the technical implementation of necessary technical solutions.
Skills and Experience:
Minimum of 5-6 years experience in Information Technology with applicable Systems Administration experience and/or System engineering certifications such as Microsoft MCSA/MCSE.
Strong experience and knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems, applications and services such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Server and Applications security.
Experience designing and administering production VMware environments.
Experience Administering SAN storage environments and SAN network infrastructure.
Experience conducting vulnerability assessments, penetration testing and risk assessments.
Experience analyzing, and implementing access control mechanisms and security methodologies.
Experience with Amazon Web Services (EC2) and Amazon (S3) storage environments.
Working knowledge of enterprise virus/malware products.
Hands on skills related to installing, configuring, upgrading, troubleshooting and repairing software, hardware and peripherals.
Ability to explain technical concepts and procedures to non-technical users.
Outstanding communications and initiative with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Strong interpersonal skills - team player, personable, professional, upbeat, and energetic, takes initiative, uses tact and diplomacy.
Must have proficiency with a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, research, databases and presentation software. (MS Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and using online information systems.
Knowledge of Active Directory and Google Applications and Google Apps platform.
Knowledge of and Mobile Devices including Apple OS and hardware.
Valid driver's license with access to transportation to travel on organization business. May require travel via various forms of public transportation and overnight stays.
Flexibility to work weekend, holiday, and evening hours as needed in addition to normal business hours.
Physical Requirements:
Able to work at a computer for extended periods of time with repetitive typing, arm and hand motion.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
