Heavy Equipment Operator

Responsibilities:

  • Grades, shapes, backfills and contours roads on the sanctuarygrounds
  • Performs routine inspection and preventive maintenance on equipment
  • Repairs damaged equipment
  • Digs trenches, removes snow, tears down buildings and other activities requiring heavy equipment
  • Completes assigned work orders in a timely and professional manner
  • Operates, services, cleans, and cares for tools and equipment
  • Follows safe work practices and observes safety precautions
  • Performs a variety of physical labor as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Experience:

  • Heavy equipment operating skills and experience preferred but will train qualified candidate
  • Work with a positive outlook, upbeat, flexible, energetic, and take initiative
  • Advanced knowledge of methods, tools, equipment, materials, and practices used in heavy equipment operations
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions; read and interpret equipment operations manuals; maintain records
  • Must be willing to obtain CDL driver's license within first year of employment
  • Valid driver's license, with 3 years clean driving record

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work out of doors in all weather conditions, with wide ranging temperatures
  • Work includes heavy lifting (typically up to 80 pounds)
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually loud
  • Prolonged periods of standing, stooping, reaching, crawling, and climbing; manual dexterity, coordination, agility, strength, and stamina

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
