Mental Health Therapist

WinGate Wilderness Therapy, located in Kanab Utah, is seeking an experienced Mental Health Therapist to join our team. You will be working with 13-18-year-old youth and young adults 18+ under the desert sky of the Grand Escalante Staircase and Kanab National Forrest. WinGate therapists are an integral part of guiding our clients through the healing process. At WinGate, our philosophy is to create an environment of responsiveness while reducing the resistance the individual has toward change, authority, and themselves. At WinGate, we believe in cooperation rather than confrontation. We have positive regard for every client, and work hard to gain insights into each individual. Our nurturing yet challenging environment allows clients to grow, gain perspective, and attain a new level of maturity as we address their specific behavioral issues and problems. We hope to create a heart of peace which replaces the heart of war.
Therapist's will work directly with the clients to establish a treatment plan that is specific to the client and their individual needs. Although much of the healing comes from the wilderness setting, the therapist directs the treatment of each client through personal sessions, group sessions, assignments, assessments, parent sessions and staff notes to provide the highest continuity of care.
